2017 Travels
Spain

October 10th to November 2nd, 2017

We landed in Madrid, rented a car, and drove to several attractions in Spain. Driving was easy in the countryside, but very difficult in city centers because of traffic, roundabouts, and narrow cobblestone roads.

Below: We went to a bullfight in Madrid which was the highlight of our visit to Spain. Brave Matadors successfully fought and killed six bulls during the blood-and-gore event; a national tradition. We also took a tour of the stadium which helped us understand the significance of the ritual.

Below: The city of Segovia, with it's fairytale skyline, is home to one of the best-preserved Roman aquaducts in the world. It was built in the year 112 using 20,000 granite blocks and gravity alone; no mortar or cement!
