2018 Travels
Norway

August 21st to September 10th, 2018

We flew into the Arctic Circle to the city of Tromso, rented a car, and drove to North Cape ... the northernmost point in Europe. From there we spent three weeks driving down to Oslo. The scenery in Norway is world-class and the people are very friendly. Driving was easy and a really good way to see the country. We loved Norway.

Below: At North Cape we stood at the globe marking the northernmost point, walked along the cliffs, and drove around looking for reindeer. Our hotel was in the harbor and had great views.

Below: A whale of a meal! Japan, Iceland and Norway are the only countries in the world where it is legal to sell and eat whale. One of our hotel rooms had a kitchen so we bought some whale at the supermarket and cooked it up with noodles and broccoli. The good thing about whale is that the filet mignon weighs 850 pounds. The meat is dark and has a yummy venison flavor; we liked it.
